A Millbrae resident has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run for allegedly killing a woman in a fatal traffic collision in Burlingame, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
The man, Joel Gilongos, 52, posted bail and faces arraignment in April, Wagstaffe said.
Arlene O’Campo, 61, of Daly City, was killed in a fatal traffic collision in the early hours of March 11 as she crossed in the crosswalk intersection of El Camino Real and Trousdale Drive and was struck by a red SUV, Burlingame police Traffic Director Jason Orloff said previously. O’Campo appeared to have the right-of-way and it seems that the driver ran a red light on El Camino Real, Orloff said.
