Ticketfly, a San Francisco-based ticket service used by Club Fox in Redwood City and thousands of other events and venues across the country, has been hacked.
Websites for all Ticketfly venues have been down since Thursday morning when the attack occurred.
Wendy Mayer-Lochtefeld, who is the publicist for Club Fox, said fortunately the venue doesn’t have concerts scheduled this week, but is still worried about the impacts of a data breach she expects to be substantial as the service has been down for a relatively long time.
“Fingers crossed,” she said. “The amount of time it’s taking tells me it’s pretty big and if this goes on too long we’ll be affected in a bigger way.”
The club does have shows scheduled in the coming weeks and recommends concertgoers call or visit the venue in person to buy tickets.
The fear is that customer and credit card information has been compromised.
According to a post on Ticketfly’s website, the company is working in coordination with “leading third-party forensic and cyber security experts” to restore service. Across the Bay Area, venues including the Independent in San Francisco, Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley and Yoshi’s in Oakland partner with Ticketfly.
