It was a special day for teachers and students at Crocker Middle School in Hillsborough with two former teachers receiving congressional honors for their 70 years of combined work.

U.S. Rep. Jackie Speier, D-San Mateo, recognized Lester Chun and Steven Oshita with statements in the congressional record for their contributions to the school district over the years at a schoolwide assembly Tuesday morning. Both retired at the end of the 2013-14 school year. Chun taught symphonic and jazz band for 33 years, while Oshita taught science and math and was a former vice principal.
