San Mateo County Superior Court is restoring its previously shortened counter and phone hours for serving the public.
Presiding Judge Susan Etezadi said the restoration is due to the addition of significant funding in the state budget for trial courts to restore and enhance court services.
“Although cutting back hours was a financial necessity nearly six years ago, with the new funding, we are truly pleased to be able to expand our access to the public we serve,” Etezadi said in a statement.
The new hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for the court clerk’s office public service counter and telephone hours and for the Records Division counter in Redwood City.
The criminal and traffic clerks’ offices are now open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Etezadi also said plans are in place to restore more court hearings and clerk’s office, self-help and family court services at the court’s South San Francisco branch beginning in January.
