Crystal Leach, Sequoia Union High School District superintendent, announced a restructuring and reorganization of the district management team, intended to streamline the services and support provided to school sites, and lower operational costs.
Beginning May 1, key leaders are being assigned to new positions, realigning some services under different departments to improve efficiency and the balance of responsibilities with one position eliminated as of July 1, according to a press release.
Current Associate Superintendent Bonnie Hansen will move from leadership of the Educational Services Department to lead the district’s Human Resources Department to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Assistant Superintendent Todd Beal, effective June 30. Current assistant superintendent of Student Services, Dr. Elizabeth Chacon, will move to leadership of the Educational Services Department. Most of the work and responsibilities of the current Student Services Department will move to the Human Resources Department, with Educational Services overseeing school counselors and psychologists, according to the release.
The changes play to the strengths of the existing team, and ensure a smooth transition in a time when talent recruitment can be costly and time-consuming, Leach said in the release.
