The Sequoia Union High School District Board of Trustees approved the employment of Janea Marking as assistant superintendent of Administrative Services, effective December.
She replaces Christine Gong, who is retiring.

She replaces Christine Gong, who is retiring.
As assistant superintendent of Administrative Services, Marking will lead the district’s business, finance, and operational departments, ensuring strong systems that support the district’s students and their families. Marking brings 20 years of experience in public school district management.
Before joining Sequoia Union, Janea served as chief business and operations officer for the Sacramento City Unified School District. She has also held leadership roles with the San Diego County Office of Education, Santa Ana Unified School District, South Bay Union School District, and Highline Public Schools in Burien, Washington.
Marking is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara and earned a master’s degree from Indiana University. She also holds a school business management certificate from the University of Southern California.
