San Mateo officers made several arrests Wednesday in five separate incidents, three at Lululemon at the Hillsdale Shopping Center, according to police.
At about 11:14 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, San Mateo police officers and members of the county’s Organized Retail Theft Task Force were dispatched to the Lululemon at the center where Teivishon Nelson Salahudin, 30, of Reno, and another person were contacted for allegedly concealing $875 worth of merchandise and trying to return them for store credit. The store credit could then be sold at a discounted rate, according to police.
Officers returned to Lululemon at 1:13 p.m., when it was reported several females who previously stole from the store had returned to the location and conducted a refund transaction. During the investigation and subsequent contact, items stolen from Lululemon in Los Angeles were located inside an associated vehicle and one arrest was made of Endya Patteway, 26, of Union City, according to police.
At 2:02 p.m., while still investigating the previous cases, police were again dispatched to Lululemon when a known thief attempted to conduct the same type of refund fraud. Crystal Sandling, 41, of Antioch, and an accomplice allegedly attempted to return stolen items after purchasing and then returning the new items, according to police.
Three minutes later, police received a call from Macy’s that ultimately resulted in a shoplifting citation and then a call from Home Depot at 2:44 p.m. reporting a theft occurring. When officers arrived, they contacted Omar Gomez, 50, a transient, who had allegedly stolen approximately $886.31 in merchandise. Officers determined the vehicle, a U-Haul truck, was reported as stolen. The passenger, Philisity Hosino, 26, of Hayward, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and had three active warrants for her arrest.
