SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco’s public defender’s office has yet to receive additional documents they’re seeking regarding the city’s troubled crime lab.
Deputy Public Defender Chris Gauger said Friday that police want a protective order on hundreds of documents that Judge Anne-Christine Massullo ruled Thursday must be turned over.
Prosecutors say the documents will include a summary of former longtime technician Deborah Madden’s misdemeanor domestic violence conviction in 2008, as well as unreleased pages of a lab audit.
Gauger says his office declined to sign a temporary order to get the documents because they want the judge to determine they can have them without restrictions.
A hearing is scheduled on Monday.
The lab was closed on March 9 shortly after Madden admitted to police she used cocaine found at work.
She has not been charged in the case.
