There was a noted lack of diversity at Friday night's Pink Slip Party at Bay Meadows in San Mateo.
Though the male-to-female ratio was right about even and a fair number of minorities were represented, the group most obviously lacking in numbers were people with jobs to give.
The Pink Slip Party, brainchild of Patty Beron of
sfgirl.com, has been held six times to date and is designed to serve as a networking tool for displaced high-tech workers and dot-commers.
