A new Chick-fil-A restaurant officially moved into Millbrae Station on Wednesday, June 18. The new restaurant, situated just off the Highway 101 in the new Millbrae Station development, is expected to create approximately 90 jobs for the community.
It’s been one week since the opening of a new Chick-fil-A at the Millbrae Station and, so far, visitors are excited, owner Caitlin Martin said.
“I think a lot of people were waiting for us to open, myself included, so I think ... we were all just really excited that the day was finally here and we’re opened up,” she said.
The new Chick-fil-A — part of the fast-food chain well-known for its chicken sandwiches, nuggets and waffle fries — is located at 106 N. Rollins Road and part of the Millbrae Station development, a mixed-use transit village development with housing and retail shops.
The restaurant is open from Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
It joins neighbors like Panda Express and Crumbl Cookies as Millbrae Station fills up with retail and restaurants.
“I think the more businesses open right around here, we help each other just kind of get the awareness and the people into this lot,” Martin said. “So I’m excited for other things to open up around here too, but we’ve all worked together really well.”
Millbrae Mayor Anders Fung said the opening of the new Chick-fil-A is an exciting example of the city’s commitment to economic development, particularly at Millbrae Station.

“We’re very excited to finally see the fruition of work and priority that we set forth in terms of economic development,” he said. “Millbrae is creating jobs.”
The new Chick-fil-A business has just hired around 90 new employees, which is just one example of Millbrae fostering business and job opportunities, Fung said. He also pointed to the opening of other new offices, like Eikon Therapeutics, in the city as another example of the city’s growth prioritization
“It gives our younger generation an opportunity for employment,” he said.
For Martin, who began working at a Sacramento Chick-fil-A during community college and stayed with the company ever since, the fast-food franchise stands apart because of its commitment to customer care.
“We don’t want it to feel like a normal fast-food restaurant,” she said. “We want to make it feel like home and really just show the care to the community, to the guests, to our team members, to everyone else that comes in the restaurant.”
On its opening day June 17, the location offered a free entree or kids meal to any customers who came dressed in cow print, an ode to the restaurant’s famous cow moniker.
“We had a great turnout,” Martin said. “It was really fun seeing people come and dress up.”
