Police in Hillsborough arrested an Arizona man on suspicion of years of sexual assaults of children beginning in 2007, the department said Wednesday.
Andrew Hosking, 33, a resident of Phoenix was extradited after an investigation into allegations of child sexual assault. Some of the alleged crimes occurred when Hosking was under the age of 18, so the case initially proceeded in juvenile court, according to police.
In June 2024, an investigation was launched after Hillsborough officers received reports of past sexual assaults involving a child who was 8 years old at the time. The assaults allegedly began in 2007 in Hillsborough and continued for several years. The last assault allegedly happened in 2015.
Detectives investigating believed that assaults also occurred at other locations, such as Hawaii and San Francisco. A second alleged victim in San Francisco reported being assaulted by Hosking in 2010 when they were 4 years old.
Investigators went on to identify more alleged victims, obtaining statements from multiple alleged victims and others, the Hillsborough Police Department said.

The San Mateo County Juvenile Court issued an arrest warrant for Hosking last April and then another warrant was issued. Hillsborough detectives traveled to Phoenix and coordinated with local authorities there to extradite and arrest Hosking, delivering him to the San Mateo County jail. In late January, his case was transferred to adult court in the county as well.
Hosking is suspected of 14 counts of forcible lewd acts upon a child and one count of sodomy by force, according to police. He is also booked on suspicion of substantial sexual contact with a victim under 14. He is being held without bail.
Detectives believe there may be additional alleged victims who have not been identified.
“HPD understands that coming forward can be extremely difficult, especially when time has passed, and we want the community to know these reports are taken seriously and handled with care and professionalism,” the department said Wednesday.
