Galli’s Sanitary Bakery, an institution in South San Francisco, will soon close its doors after more than 100 years of business.
The family-run business founded in 1909 specializing in cakes, cookies, tarts and other sweets announced Tuesday, Sept. 13, plans to shutter, though a final day of business is yet to be determined.
The bakery, at 324 Grand Ave., is operated by Todd and Ambrose Galli, who are descendants of Italian immigrants who originally opened the beloved shop, according to the company’s website.
