• The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to accept $479,681 in donations and in-kind gifts from the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Foundation, including more than $331,000 in grants that will be paid directly to the county. The projects funded include: the volunteer program; San Mateo County Bicycle Sunday; parking lot improvements and creek restoration project at Edgewood Park and Preserve; efforts to restore the serpentine grassland and endangered Bay checkerspot butterfly habitat at Edgewood Park and Preserve; improvements to the windsurfing staging area at Coyote Point Recreation Area; the design and artwork for educational signs for Fitzgerald Marine Reserve; facilitation efforts associated with the Parks for the Future process; and, distribution of the "Teacher’s Guide to San Mateo County Parks” and the "Park Pack,” a resource kit for teachers that includes 15 copies of field different field guides, binoculars, hand lenses and other field study materials.
