A Mountain View man accused of having sex with two underage girls while working as a counselor at a youth group home pleaded not guilty to felony charges Wednesday, according to San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
The man, who was originally arrested for having sex with a 14-year-old at the youth home, faces up to 20 years in the county jail after 17 new charges were filed against him related to a second victim, said District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.
Francis Caceres, 28, allegedly had sexual relations late December with a 14-year-old girl he met last July at Your House South, a Redwood City youth home. Caceres was terminated from his position at the facility after staff found out about the alleged abuse, which occurred off site, according to prosecutors.
When the case came to light, another resident of the group home came forward claiming she is also a victim. Starting when she was 13, Caceres allegedly flirted with her and started a sexual relationship with her involving molestations occurring in the group home’s recreation room, according to prosecutors.
The charges Caceres faces include child molestation, sexual intercourse with a minor and witness intimidation. He was arrested Jan. 12 when he was working at Tayler Group Home in San Jose.
The charges Caceres faces include child molestation, sexual intercourse with a minor and witness intimidation. He will next appear in court for preliminary hearing March 30. He is currently in custody on $1 million bail, according to prosecutors.
