A Danville man who allegedly defrauded his rich neighbors of more than $100,000 by passing himself off as a former San Francisco 49er has been arrested.
San Francisco businessman Steven Travis, 43, was arrested and booked at the Contra Costa County jail in Martinez Thursday on suspicion of grand theft and securities fraud. His bail was set at $250,000.
Travis told his neighbors in Blackhawk he had played football with the 49ers, the Chicago Bears and at Notre Dame University.
Prosecutor Ken McCormick said Travis misrepresented his alleged college and professional career for nearly ten years.
