Pedestrian decoy enforcement a success
On June 10, the San Carlos, Belmont and Redwood City Police Departments executed the Pedestrian Decoy Enforcement program.

Grand Jury: Health Dept. needs to educate residents
A San Mateo County Civil Grand Jury report found that while San Mateo County Health Services Agency is doing a good job of inspecting restaurants and food facilities, it fails in making information available to residents.
The grand jury found that other counties are more successful at informing the public of the results of various inspections, through the use of a letter grading system.
The grand jury also reported that the Purchasing Division of San Mateo County is doing a good job. The division is responsible for requests to purchase approximately $39,000,000 of goods and services.
The Grand Jury was disappointed with the outdated accounting system. Recommendations included audits by the Internal Audit Department of the Controllers Office. The full report is posted at: http://www.sanmateocourt.org/grandjury.
