A Burlingame man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit-and-run for allegedly killing one woman and injuring another man in Brisbane on March 24, San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
The man, Hector De La Torre Jimenez, 37, pleaded not guilty to three felony counts on March 26, including hit-and-run causing death, Wagstaffe said.
Around 5:15 a.m., first responders were alerted to a traffic collision on the 3700 block of Bayshore Boulevard. When they arrived, they found three vehicles in a crash aftermath, the Brisbane Police Department said on social media.
Two drivers involved were injured and were sent to the hospital. One of them, a 60-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries, while the other victim, a 35-year-old man, is now in stable condition.
Police alleged Jimenez fled the scene before first responders arrived, but was eventually arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail.
