A woman died and a man was injured in an alleged hit-and-run collision involving multiple vehicles in Brisbane early Monday morning, according to police.
Around 5:15 a.m., first responders were alerted to a traffic collision on the 3700 block of Bayshore Boulevard. When they arrived, they found three vehicles in a crash aftermath, the Brisbane Police Department said on social media.
Two drivers involved were injured and were sent to the hospital. One of them, a 60-year-old woman, succumbed to her injuries, while the other victim, a 35-year-old man, is now in stable condition.
Police alleged the third driver involved in the crash fled the scene before first responders arrived. During the investigation, authorities identified the suspect as a 37-year-old Burlingame resident.
The suspect was eventually arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury, hit-and-run causing death and vehicular manslaughter.
It was not yet confirmed if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
Anyone with information, photos or video footage relevant to the fatal crash is asked to contact Sgt. Giovanni Perez at (415) 508-2183 or gperez@brisbaneca.org.
