Two weeks of repeated car window smashing is frustrating Burlingame police searching the city for the vandals.
At least 17 car windows were smashed between Nov. 14 and Nov. 25. At least seven of the broken windows were caused by a large rock or river rocks being thrown through the windows, said Burlingame police Cmdr. Brad Floyd.

The next morning police discovered rocks were thrown through five other car windows on the 1000 block of Capuchino Avenue, 100 block of Costa Rica Avenue, 700 block of Acacia Drive, 700 block of Walnut Avenue and the 900 block of Chula Vista Avenue. On Nov. 25, a window was smashed on a car parked near Lunardi’s on the 1800 block of El Camino Real.
Police are still determining if all the incidents are tied together, but "the ones plainly described as rocks through a window have a good chance of being tied together because of the close time frame,” Floyd said in an e-mail yesterday.
Police are actively investigating the spree and ask anyone with information to call the department at 777-4100.
