The story of "Gypsy,” inspired by the memoirs of the famed stripper Gypsy Rose Lee, fell into the hands of three famed Broadway figures, Arthur Laurents, Jule Stein and Stephen Sondheim and they turned out a near great addition to the classical repertoire of musical theater. How could this not endure as many ongoing community theater offerings, with such songs as "Let Me Entertain You,” "Everything’s Coming Up Roses,” "Small World,” "Together Wherever We Go,” the hysterical "You Gotta Get a Gimmick” and the heartbreaking "Rose’s Turn?”
