A Los Angeles woman living in South San Francisco was allegedly running a sex business, prostituting two other female victims out of an apartment on Cypress Avenue, the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office said.
The woman, 59-year-old Chunxiang Wen, is being charged with two felony counts of pimping, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.
The South San Francisco Police Department received a citizen’s tip that an “unusual number of males” were leaving the apartment, located on the 400 block of Cypress Avenue, on Oct. 6, according to the DA’s office.
After obtaining a search warrant, officers entered the apartment Oct. 19 and found two women employed for Wen’s alleged sex business, the DA’s office said.
Charges are based on evidence of men coming and going from the apartment from Oct. 15 to Oct. 19, Wagstaffe said.
Wen’s original Superior Court review for Jan. 11 was continued to Feb. 2 and a pretrial date is scheduled for April. She faces up to eight years in prison.
