OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — The late Tupac Shakur will have a stretch of an Oakland street renamed for him after a unanimous vote by the city council Tuesday.

Shakur was born in Harlem and later lived in Baltimore, Maryland; and in Marin City, California, but credited Oakland as the location where he got his "game" and launched his career, according to legislation authorizing the commemorative street renaming.

Let me get this straight – we have folks tearing down statues and removing names of historic leaders and now Oakland is naming streets for folks who have more baggage connected with them than these “canceled” historic leaders? It’s no wonder the Oakland A’s are leaving. Folks in Oakland probably thought the A’s were an insult to anybody receiving lower grades… Maybe I’ll start my own foundation and buy a street named “Terence Y.” Of course, the street needs to branch on both ends into two angled streets, each in the shape of a “Y.” BTW, perhaps the timeline should be conditional upon all other “canceled” names being restored…

Be careful Terence. Once they find out where you live they may change your street name to AOC Boulevard.

Terence Y

That’s okay, Dirk. I’d tailor the sign so it looks partially melted down. You know, to reflect AOC after she melts down from… Trump, Elon, Feinstein, Biden putting kids in cages, Tucker, abortion, grass, manholes, heavier than air flight, gravity…
