Federal authorities raided a home belonging to Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao early Thursday as part of an investigation that included a search of at least two other houses, authorities said.

Several hours after the FBI raided the home of Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao on Thursday, a small group of protesters had gathered there, calling for her to resign.

"The people are asking Mayor Thao to resign to save herself and the city from further embarrassment," according to Edward Escobar of the Coalition for Community Engagement. "We cannot trust this failed mayor nor her council buddies who enable and empower her to destroy the city. "
