Frank Lobdell (U.S.A., b. 1921) "Figure Drawing No. 48,1967," 1967 Ink and gouache.

The Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University currently presents "Frank Lobdell Figure Drawings,” an exhibition of 60 renderings in ink, pencil, crayon, and wash from the 1960s and 1970s. The works are from the Cantor Arts Center's own collection as well as on loan from the artist and private collections. Lobdell is a recipient of the Medal for Distinguished Achievement in Painting from the American Academy and Institute of Arts & Letters. His work is included in the collections of major museums, including the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C.; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Norton Simon Museum, Pasadena, Calif.; The Oakland Museum of California; The M.H. de Young Museum, San Francisco, Calif.; the Portland Art Museum, Ore., and the Smithsonian Museum of American Art, Washington D.C.
