Sales of kibble were slow for the short-lived Pets.com online pet supplies retailer, but the lovable sock puppet that starred in the company's commercials was a winner - and it may have a future beyond chew toys. So popular was the now-defunct company's mascot that sock puppet dolls were the best selling item the company offered, outpacing dog leashes and bird feed.

Marketing professionals have inquired about buying the rights to the sock puppet in hopes that the character's popularity could rub off and help sell other products.
