Portola Art Gallery presents Scott Johnson’s “Capturing the Moment.”
Through July 31, Portola Art Gallery presents “Capturing the Moment,” a collection of landscape paintings by Redwood City-based artist Scott Johnson. The featured work is directly inspired by the artist’s ever-evolving personal connection to our natural world.
Born in 1977 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Johnson focuses much of his artwork on the local landscapes of his California home. Painting exclusively in oils and working directly from nature, he strives to capture the world in a style known as impressionistic realism. Though many of his paintings feature iconic locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, Johnson also draws inspiration from more “off the beaten path” scenes.
Johnson will be available to meet and discuss his work at the Portola Art Gallery 1-4 p.m. Saturday, July 19 from; he is also available by appointment at the gallery. More information about his artwork may be found online at https://smjstudios.com/ or https://www.instagram.com/smjstudioz/.
The Portola Art Gallery, at Allied Arts Guild, 75 Arbor Road, Menlo Park, exhibits high quality, representational art by 22 Bay Area artists who work in paint, pastel, photography, ceramics, glass art, paper sculptures and woodworking.
