Bruce Hornsby looks back with new album 'Indigo Park' that mixes simplicity and complexity
NEW YORK (AP) — Bruce Hornsby has a new album that looks back on his life with warmth, humor and deliberate weirdness. Hornsby calls “Indigo Park” a loose concept record about childhood and memory. The 10 songs mix simple melodies with knotty turns that he knows some longtime fans dislike. The album features Ezra Koenig, Bonnie Raitt and Bob Weir. Hornsby leans into wordplay and literary references. One song recalls hearing about JFK’s assassination at school and another borrows basketball chants from his son’s games. Hornsby picked an Edward Hopper print — “Night Shadows,” a copy of which he owns — as the album cover. It depicts a man alone on a dark street.

Some strategies for identifying these images include looking for visual cues, determining their origin, seeking out multiple reputable sources, making use of technology such as invisible digital watermarks and not immediately sharing content if its authenticity is unclear.
