BETHLEHEM, Pa. - With Terrell Owens bound for the Bahamas and taking a break from blasting the Eagles, Donovan McNabb figured it was time to welcome potential replacements.
Philly fans, this is what you could be left with if Owens never returns to the Eagles:
"I'd like for all of you to introduce yourselves to Greg Lewis, Billy McMullen, Brian Westbrook, Reggie Brown," McNabb said after Friday's practice.
That's not exactly Owens and Todd Pinkston. Heck, that's not even Pinkston and Freddie Mitchell.
Kings sign Abdur-Rahim
When the New Jersey Nets decided they didn't want Shareef Abdur-Rahim, the Sacramento Kings eagerly grabbed him.
The Kings signed Abdur-Rahim to a multiyear contract Friday, three days after the Nets rescinded a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers because of medical concerns about the nine-year veteran's right knee.
Outfield collision stirs Mets
SAN DIEGO - Mike Cameron and Carlos Beltran collided so violently in the outfield, face-to-face while diving for a ball, that the first New York Mets teammates who reached them were shaken by what they saw.
"I couldn't imagine being a paramedic going to the scene of a wreck. That's what that was, pretty much, a wreck," said first baseman Marlon Anderson, who ran to the fallen outfielders in the seventh inning of the Mets' 2-1 loss to the San Diego Padres on Thursday.
Cameron was dazed and bleeding from his mouth. He was taken off the field on a stretcher, his body immobilized and his neck in a brace. He was taken to Mercy Hospital, where he underwent two CT scans. Cameron broke his nose, had multiple fractures of both cheekbones and a slight concussion, Mets spokesman Jay Horwitz said.
