Mills 185, South City 231
The Vikings opened PAL Ocean Division play with the win over the Warriors at Mariner’s Point Golf Complex in Foster City.
Ari Kurita came away with low-round honors for Mills, firing a 3-over 30. James Xu came in with a 5-over 32 and Elijah Cabatic added a 35 for the Vikings.
South City was led by Joseph Preciado, who finished with a 36, the only sub-40 round for the Warriors.
Baseball
Serra 4, Sacred Heart Prep 1
The Padres opened defense of their 2025 CCS Division I title by beating the Gators in the season opener for both.
Serra scored single runs in the first three innings and added one more in the sixth. SHP was held scoreless until scratching out a run in the bottom of the sixth.
Three Serra pitchers held the Gators to just two hits. Riley Lim got the start and worked the first five innings, giving up two hits while striking out five and walking three. Hector Marquez and Michael Ohman closed out the game for the Padres.
Nate Hui had three hits for Serra, while Ayden Beal and Donovan Friedland both drove in a run.
JP Durrett recorded the only RBI for SHP. Rallin Covey and Lucca Larson combined on the mound for the Gators, giving up four runs on six hits.
Los Gatos 12, Menlo-Atherton 1
The Bears were in it for most of the game, until their weren’t.
Los Gatos led 2-0 after four innings, scoring single runs in the third and fourth. But the Wildcats scored five runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to put the game away.
M-A was held to one run on four hits, with Lucas Ten Vaanholt driving in the only run for the Bears.
Menlo School 11, James Logan-Union City 1
The Knights, the defending CCS Division IV and Nor Cal DIV champs, opened the 2026 season with a mercy-rule win over the Colts.

Menlo scored single runs in the first, third and fourth innings — with a three-run second sandwiched in there — before ending the game with five runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Jack Freehill had a monster season opener. The senior collected three hits, including a home run, as he drove in five runs on the day. Fletcher Cahill and Matthew Majayla each added two RBIs apiece.
That was more than enough offense for starting pitcher Jackson Flanagan, who worked all five innings, allowing one run on four hits.
Mills 15, Gunn 5
The Vikings opened the game with seven runs in the bottom of the first and ended it with seven runs in the bottom of the fifth for the mercy-rule victory.
Tyler Yuan, Ethan Wong, Derek Delima and Carison Chiu — all sophomores — all drove in two runs apiece.
Two more sophomores — Lucas Wong and Hagan Chan – combined on the mound for the win for the Vikings.
Sequoia 10, Santa Clara 0
The Ravens won their second game in as many days.
Sequoia scored five runs in the first three innings and added five more over the final three as the Ravens scored 10 runs on nine hits. Cole Hymer collected three hits for the Ravens, with Mario Fausto adding a pair of hits and an RBI.
Oliver Connelly and Nolan Fausto combined on the mound to limit Santa Clara to just three hits while striking out nine.
In other action ...
Half Moon Bay scored scored four runs in the first two inning and added four more in bottom of the sixth to post the 10-run mercy rule win over Lincoln.
Westmoor scored runs in each of the first four innings, including a five-run third, as they posted a mercy-rule, 10-0 win over visiting Balboa-SF.
Softball
South City 15, University-SF 5
The Warriors opened the season with a mercy-rule win over the Red Devils.
South City would score all the runs it would need in the first inning, plating six. The Warriors added two in the second, three in the third, one in fourth and ended the game with a three-run fifth.
Sydney Semans drove in a game-high three runs for South City, while Juventina Suarez, Monique Geronimo, Kadence Yip, Liala Kinchens all drove in two runs apiece. Madyson Jade Quintanilla did not have a hit, but she walked four times and scored three runs.
