Victoria Cui, Crystal girls’ golf. The freshman took third place at the CIF Northern California girls’ golf championships, shooting a 2-under 70 last Monday at El Cerrito’s Country Club. Cui finished just 2 strokes back of Nor Cal champion Lily Peng of Carondelet. After birdieing four holes, Cui shot for eagle on 16 to break a fourth-place tie with St. Ignatius’ Stevie Umali, who finished fourth overall, and to leapfrog Vista de Lago’s Abigail Lin, who finished fifth.

Anna Salter, Crystal girls’ cross country. The Gryphons dashed to the CCS Division V girls’ cross country title Saturday at Crystal Springs Cross Country Course, and Salter led the way. After twice settling for second place in CCS Division V her sophomore and junior seasons, Salter dashed to her first CCS individual title with a time of 17:41.7, standing as the third fastest time of the day through all five divisions combined.
