While CSM was falling 6-3 to Chabot College ā currently tied for first place in the Coast North with Skyline College ā CaƱada (6-4 Coast North, 14-15 overall) was busy drumming up offense. The Colts banged out 14 hits, and scored in all but one inning while leading wire to wire to win their fourth straight. Sophomore second baseman Patrick Sanchez led the hit parade, going 4 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Sophomore third baseman Tim Selway added two hits with a home run and two RBIs.
Larson Darthard homered for De Anza (2-8, 5-25), and paced the Cougars with two hits and three RBIs.
Freshman right-hander Adam Bailey earned the win, allowing four runs on four hits through six innings of work. His record improves to 3-1. Sophomores Ryan Kinoshita and Gabriel Levine combined for three scoreless innings to close it out.
CaƱadaās four straight wins marks the programās best streak in conference play since winning eight straight Coast North games in 2024. The three-game series with De Anza continues Thursday in Redwood City at 2:30 p.m.
Chabot 6, CSM 3
The CSM Bulldogs (6-4, 18-11) dropped their fourth straight on a road trip to Hayward to face Chabot (8-2, 13-16). The Bulldogs jumped ahead in the first on an RBI single from freshman Jacob Prettol. The Gladiators responded with three runs in the fourth and three more in the fifth.
