The 2004 baseball season was a disaster for Capuchino. Coming off a Central Coast Section semifinal appearance in 2003, the Mustangs fell to 2-22 last year, winning only one game in Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division play.

It appeared to be more of the same when the Mustangs dropped their first two games of the 2005 season. But Capuchino was not about to let last year happen again. The Mustangs rebounded to reel off nine straight wins and with five games left in the regular season - including four in Ocean Division play - Capuchino (7-2 PAL, 14-4 overall) finds itself atop the Ocean Division standings with a two-game lead over Aragon (6-4) and Menlo School (5-4) with a CCS berth on the horizon.
