Editor,

On Tuesday, Jan. 9, a letter writer asked Republicans for solutions to the problems facing our nation (Dem-bashing columns). The solutions are there, however, they are the opposite of what Democrats want. First, secure our borders, then solve crime with harsher penalties for criminals. Too many are not prosecuted to the fullest extent, and are given deals so the DA’s conviction rate looks good. While in jail, no televisions or internet, and bring back work crews. They can help trim trees to prevent wildfires and help PG&E dig ditches to bury power lines.

Well written, Mr. Guttenbeil. I’d add that for those homeless who don’t want to play by the rules, give them bus tickets to San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, or Los Angeles. As for what Newsom has done with taxpayer dollars, one doesn’t have to look far to see the $32 billion lost to EDD fraud, or the $billions wasted on the union giveaway known as the train-to-nowhere, or the $billions wasted given to non-citizens.
