Thanks for your letter, Mr. Williams. The answer to your first question is “No” and your second question is “Yes.” Essentially expect to always be punished for “woke” policies. Unfortunately, Californians get the government they deserve. Until that changes, expect the nickel and diming and spankings to continue. Your best bet is to move out of California to a better governed state. BTW, don’t forget that higher gas prices lead to higher gas taxes and more tax revenue for the state, too, so there’s no incentive to lower gas prices and every incentive to increase gas prices.
Not everyone can buy a Tesla or afford our energy bills because CA's climate warming politics impose unreasonable expensive on average people. We need to wait until technology catches up to provide inexpensive green energy and cars and then we can afford to go green.
I wished the 'green crowd' would study the unraveling industrial disaster in Germany. Announcements of tens of thousands of workers at VW and now in the steel industry are being terminated as Germany is poorly prepared for the electrification and has insufficient economic generation sources. Fools that they are, pressured by the greenies, Merkel shutdown their nuclear plants and was hoping that renewable energy would suffice. That energy source has turned out to be too expensive and unreliable, hence the industrial collapse. Don't take my word for it, that is reported in their country by their media. Worldwide, VW is still one of the largest car manufacturers but not in Germany anymore because of excessive cost of operations. We should learn from their mistakes. It appears this calamity news has already reached the new administration. Germany's post war "economic miracle" is being destroyed by well-meaning idiots.
