Israel has weakened Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza, and Iran itself. Now Israel and the United States must find a way to end Hamas governing Gaza. Many Palestinians in Gaza have demonstrated against Hamas, and seized an office of Hamas in Gaza. The sheik of Hebron has offered a peace plan: recognition of Israel as the nation state of the Jewish people, workers from Hebron to enter Israel, zero tolerance for terrorism.
Other sheiks have agreed, representing more than 700,000 Palestinians. Therefore prospects for peace have improved, and new leadership of Palestinians and Israel are needed to increase the momentum towards a long lasting peace.
