Editor,
In the Dec 15 Daily Journal, John Marty, of San Bruno took issue with my earlier support of President Biden and some of his accomplishments.
He notes that “In fact, the journal Market Watch concluded … that the highest tax breaks came in the lowest three tiers.” Thank you, Mr. Barty. You are correct … according Yahoo Finance (Dec 13, 2023), the top rate dropped from 39.6% to 37% (a 2.6% drop) while the bottom three rates dropped 4%, 3% and 3% respectively. The family making $15 million saved $390,000 while Joe Worker, in the bottom bracket, making $40,000 $1,200. Helpful to everyone? Yes …but most helpful to Daddy Warbucks, by far.
And the fraud Mr Barty speaks of? AP reporting June 11, 2023, “the greatest grift in U.S. history” was sourced from initiatives created by Biden’s predecessor.” Most of the looted money was swiped from three large pandemic-relief initiatives launched during the Trump administration and inherited by President Joe Biden.”
I have to agree that we should not be buying oil from Russia as long as it’s proceeding with its illegal Ukraine war. But, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the top five sources of crude oil imports are Canada 60%, Mexico 10%, Saudi Arabia 7%, Iraq 4% and Colombia 4% … and Russia less than 4%. It looks like we can agree that we shouldn’t be importing any oil from Russia.
Thank you, Mr. Barty, for getting me to look further into the news. It’s worth doing every single day!

Not so fast, Mr. Kistler. Someone making $40k only pays about $7.5k in federal and state taxes, 18.8% of their income. Meanwhile, someone making $15m pays almost $7.9m in federal and state taxes, 52.5% of their income. Not all that helpful to Daddy Warbucks, is it? Now how about Biden’s COVID plan in letting people continue to die? How about Biden wasting $billions on an unwinnable war in Ukraine while taking two knees and bowing to the Taliban, gifting them another $80B worth of assets? Those numbers go into Biden’s balance sheet for incompetence and looted money. Sorry, Mr. Kistler, another fail. Bigly. But please do look further into the news. Hint, reputable news sources lend much more credibility to your stances.
Terence,
I see you still haven't found your mirror. BTW, it has been over three years and I am not getting any younger. When are you going to give us your definitive report on your bamboo fibers?
