I read Ms. Eileen Liu’s Jan. 27 Student News column in the Daily Journal. I was struck by the quality of the writing, and the message itself. This is a column I look forward to reading each week, and am impressed by the thought behind the writing. Her writing informs, inspires and educates. Thank you for printing it, as I look forward to reading it. What a talent she has.
As a child musician, I remember performing at homes for the elderly, and though I was never very good, it felt good to perform, in hopes that the music would stimulate emotions or memories for the audience.
Thank you Jason for your time volunteering in your younger days helping bring a little cheer to the elderly. Having members of my family with Alzheimer’s and spending many hours with them you can rest assured that regardless of the quality of the music they they do enjoy the entertainment and the break in their everyday routine.
