Daily Journal sports correspondent Emanuel Lee took first and second place in the sports story category for "Breathing Easy" and "Big play Eddie shatters adversity," and won first for "Woodside whips Westmont for title" for sports game story.
Daily Journal Sports Editor Nathan Mollat took second place for his sports game story "Burlingame rallies to shock M-A."
Well deserved kudos to Nate and Emanuel for their continued excellence in covering youth sports on the Peninsula. As a coach, I know the spark that their words put in an athlete's eyes, reading about themselves and teammates, those exploits chronicled in fine fashion. As a parent, I thank them for their kind words that gave my wife and I some cherished keepsakes for our daughter's scrapbook. As a former journalist, I say, "Give 'em a raise!"
Thanks so much for empowering these two in their pursuit of the good story.
