I read with great dismay of Mike Nevin's refusal to accept any responsibility for his actions related to the county's transit board seat that he now occupies. That seat, ostensibly reserved for a member of the public, is now in the hands of a career politician who has demonstrated contempt for the public trust.
He has had 10 years on that board as a supervisor, but because he is termed out of political office and wants to retain a platform for his bid for state Senate. So, he engineers for himself placement on that same board as a member of the public. Unfortunately, no members of the public were invited to the party to see if they may want a shot at it.
In short, he rigged it. And now that folks around the county have called him on his gross abuse of the public trust, all that he can say is that the folks saying that have other motives.
