Editor,

With the San Carlos Meature T coming up for vote on Tuesday, March 8, I'd like to share the following. After riding SCOOT on Wednesday, Feb. 9, I found that there were only two other riders going downtown with me on the Melendy pick up route, and three other riders coming back with me on my return trip. After sharing this information with some friends and others, I thought that perhaps I was being a bit unfair, looking at only one round trip, so I've been spying just a little bit. I've been looking for SCOOT buses, and attempting to see how many people are riding the bus. I didn't go out of my way; I just looked at the SCOOT bus if we happened to be passing each other. Do you know what I discovered? Outside of school bus use, that original figure of mine turned out to be pretty accurate. There seemed to be three or four people riding the SCOOT bus, each time I looked, and sometimes fewer.
