Editor,
I get such a kick out of reading self described political expert and FLW (frequent letter writer) Michael Oberg’s opinions. The latest being his unwarranted criticism of editor Jon Mays’ column of March 28.

Editor,

Mr. Oberg seems so blind to his party being in such disarray that he’s of the opinion that the Democrats are not “the party of the elite” and then goes on to possibly quote either AI or reference Webster’s dictionary for the description of what elite is and proudly stating that his Democratic Party is not such a description. Looking up the word elite in Merriam-Webster, it states in part, “the richest, most powerful, best educated or best trained group in society.” Yes, Mark, you are right. The Democratic political party and politician is certainly not that. Except if your name is Nancy Pelosi (net worth $267M), Mark Warner (net worth $248M) or Daniel Goldman (net worth $184M) just to name a few. And let’s not forget Democrats George Soros (net worth $7.2B), Oprah Winfrey (net worth $3B) or Steven Spielberg (net worth $5.3B) God knows they’re not “elite.”

Thanks, Mr. Wackerman, for detailing astute observations asserted by Mr. Oberg. Mr. Oberg, like many of his fellow far-left Dems are repeating what the Dem playbook tells them to say, all the while being unable to answer why Democrats prefer waste, fraud, and abuse remain in our government. Or why Dems support keeping invaders, especially violent criminals, in our country. Or why Dems say they believe in global warming but not really, as evidenced by their newfound hate and vitriol against Mr. Musk. Until Mr. Oberg or other Democrats can answer simple questions, we can listen to and ignore their hyperbole but we shouldn’t take them seriously. I’d rather have them vent rather than resort to vandalism or criminal acts.
Mr. Wackerman, according to your opinion it is okay for Republicans to be rich and well educated and they are not elites, but, it is not okay for Democrats to be rich and well educated because they are elites. That makes absolutely no sense. What you are saying is the typical right-wing/Republican/Trump supporter hypocrisy and ignorance. I can provide you with the dictionary's definition of those words if you want. You, along with your right-wing buddies, all fall for Trump's divisive political propaganda. It's so sad to see.
Hey Mike O., we’re still waiting for your answer as to why Democrats prefer waste, fraud, and abuse remain in our government. Or why Dems support keeping invaders, especially violent criminals, in our country. Or why Dems say they believe in global warming but not really, as evidenced by their newfound hate and vitriol against Mr. Musk. Instead, we get another excerpt from the Dem playbook attacking others because Dems can’t answer simple questions. That’s even more sad to see.
