Editor,
I am 12 years old, and I want to tell you about Boy Scouts, and Camp Royaneh. Royaneh means “Camp of Joy.” Camp Royaneh is located near Cazadero, California.
At Royaneh we learned about helping our environment, about sustainability and recycling so that we don’t harm our planet.
We also learned how this helps wildlife, and we were able to see many forms of wildlife near Cazadero.
I had a lot of fun at Camp Royaneh — I learned how to safely start a campfire. I learned how to cook. I worked with other scouts to come up with skits to perform at our campfire. The food was pretty good — my favorite was the junk food we could buy at the camp store.
I think other children should go to Camp Royaneh so they can learn and have fun as well.
If you want to be a Boy Scout like me, you can sign up at one of our local troops — Troop 27 in Belmont, Troop 42 in San Mateo, or Troop 44 in San Mateo.
