California’s governors and legislators have a number of irritating habits, such as using sneaky tactics to pass legislation with little or no public notice, or exempting themselves from the rules that govern others.

However, the topper is their tendency to enact sweeping programs or policy decrees that promise positive benefits without fully weighing the risks.

Thanks for your column, Mr. Walters, highlighting the fecklessness and discrimination by California’s governors and legislators. Voters get the government they deserve and voters are seeing the fruits of their elections. If voters don’t make better choices, the status quo will remain. As for rebuilding LA County homes, it should be noted that a recent article (https://abc7.com/post/palisades-fire-low-number-permits-issued-rebuilding-homes-is-concerning-councilwoman-traci-park-says/16077658/) details that only four permits have been issued as of this Monday. Will Adam Carolla’s prediction that wealthy California elites will abandon or vote less blue because of the onerous amount of state regulation they face when they attempt to rebuild? I imagine less wealthy California’s are already abandoning Democrats but if not, they’ll continue to suffer the consequences of their inaction.
