The Rev. Robert Grover Caughey

The Rev. Robert Grover Caughey, born Dec. 17, 1926, died suddenly at the age of 90 Wednesday, June 14, 2017, after a brief illness.

A resident of San Mateo, Bob was born in Salt Lake City and served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He received his master’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1949 and began his 65+ year career as a mechanical and electrical engineer. Bob was ordained as a deacon of the Episcopal Church 1973. During his ministry, he devoutly served parishioners in various churches, most recently, St. Matthew’s. He often brought communion to those unable to attend church. He will be remembered for his kind heart and his unwavering faith in both his church and his family.
