Lorenz Kao

Lorenz Kao, 91, of Hillsborough, died peacefully April 28, 2018, in Burlingame, California.

Lorenz was born and grew up in Shantou, Guangdong Province, China, Feb. 12, 1927, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kao, the second of 12 children. He moved to Hong Kong, where he met his wife Louisa Zee Kao with whom he was married for 56 years. Along with his wife, Louisa, he built their fashion startup business in Hong Kong and Europe. In the late1970s, he and his family immigrated to California, and made the Bay Area his permanent home. Lorenz was the co-founder and senior executive vice president of The Zeka Group, Incorporated in Burlingame, a family-operated firm in real estate development, investment and property management. He had a passion for classical music, operas, good food and was a connoisseur and collector of fine wines. Above all, Lorenz always cherished his family and friends.
