Jeanie Murgo, 93, a proud Italian born in San Francisco on April 13, 1932, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
After graduating from San Francisco’s Mission High School in 1950, Jeanie entered the workforce in banking. She met her beloved Lou on the beach in Waikiki, Hawaii. They knew each other 42 days before they married, and shared that love for 63 years.
When she and Lou settled in Rhode Island after their marriage in 1957, she worked at Hospital Trust Bank. In 1968, the Murgo family returned home to California, “God’s Country.”
A passionate homemaker, Jeanie also spent years as a special education para-educator at John Muir elementary school. Jeanie enjoyed volunteering for local community theatres and orchestras, The Peninsula Blood Bank, and was active with her churches.
Her favorite things to do included cooking and baking, reading, caring for animals, listening to Frank Sinatra and spending time with her precious family. Jeanie’s daughters greatly admire their Mom’s fierce love of family and her ability to make friends wherever life took her.
Jeanie is survived by her 2 daughters Lisa and Nikki, grandchildren Cella, Derek, and Collin, younger brother Lou, and son-in-law Larry.
She will be forever missed, and her family will be forever grateful… As she often said, “Everything is in God’s hands.” Sempre Famiglia.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for Spring of 2026. Her family appreciates donations to The Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA, 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. www.peninsulahumanesociety.org.
Condolences may be sent C/O CHAPEL OF THE HIGHLANDS, 194 Millwood Drive, Millbrae, CA 94030.
