Emily “Mia” di Carlo died peacefully Feb. 21, 2019, at the age of 96.
Born in 1922 and raised in San Francisco. She graduated from Girls High School in San Francisco in 1940, then married in 1941 moving to Oakland. Her then-husband had lasting war injuries thus becoming a widow by 1949.
By 1951, she remarried Antonio di Carlo and then moved to Redwood City. Had three children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived in Redwood City for the rest of her life only moving to San Carlos when extra comfort care was needed.
Her sister Lee Lucas of San Carlos, who just died at 94 in January 2019, was one of her best friends and she cared for her deeply.
She lived long full life through her family and friends. She loved participate in bowling leagues, Pedro tournaments, Bingo and casino trips with friends. Another great deal of fun was to watch all the local sporting events. Her final resting place will be at Skylawn Cemetery
