Adolfo Molinar, 91, died peacefully of natural causes at the veterans hospital in Palo Alto, California, on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1966. He saw combat action in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and earned two Purple Hearts. After the war, he served in post-war Germany as a tank commander. He met his wife Vera in Berlin and they were married for 63 years.
Adolfo reached the rank of master sergeant. From childhood, all he ever wanted was to join the military and serve his country. His years as a soldier were some of the happiest times of his life. The discipline and patriotism he learned in the Army never left him. He is survived by his wife Vera Molinar and his sons Dennis Molinar and Ricardo Molinar.
Adolfo was a very private and humble man. At his request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Museum of the Big Bend in Alpine, Texas.
