Partisan politics, shifting school policies, changing technology and uncertain school funding are making being a school board member more difficult than ever.

A study released Tuesday by the USC EdPolicy Hub analyzed the experiences of 10 California school board members and offered recommendations to strengthen school board governance.

Who needs school districts?

There are several states where there is a county board of education leading all schools - no "Local Control" required, no amateur middle men or women required - professionals leading professionals.

Local School Boards is affluent Mama Bears fighting for resources going to their kids first.

This is how they segregated school districts like San Mateo and Redwood City. They created Magnet Schools for the affluent parents with money they are taking from low-income neighborhood schools. Then they call those schools "failing" and "underfunded" and apply for more money coming from state and federal levels.

BUT the first step was always to create schools with topics and names like "Parent Participation", "Montessori", "[rich-people language] Immersion", "STEM", "STEAM", "Alternative", "Academy", ... even middle schools and their "Electives" and "Athletics" are used to discriminate and take away from the main goal: Providing Education.
