An 89-year-old Woodside man has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office following his death in a collision with a vehicle Thursday evening in Belmont.
Ernest Goldau died in a collision on the 100 block of Old County Road after police arrived there at about 6:30 p.m.
Police said a blue Toyota Corolla hit Goldau and police found him lying in the road. He died after being taken to Stanford Hospital, according to the medical examiner’s office.
The driver of the Toyota stayed at the scene and cooperated with police.
Police said neither drugs nor alcohol appear to have played a part in the collision.
